The Possibilities – E-mail Marketing

0 Comments 01 May 2006

Here are some great excuses to send e-mail from your small business. And remember, it’ll never be considered spam as long as they opted into your list to start with (ie. gave you permission to email them) and you continue to send them valuable, useful information.

1. Postcard e-mail (photo and short message or offer)

2. Reminder e-mails

3. Newsletters

4. Sale alerts – especially useful for preferred customer lists

5. Event invitations

6. Surveys & feedback – to create ownership and loyalty to your store

7. Updates on your store, products, etc.

8. News & education – from your industry, about products, history, etc. These are considered "one article" type emails vs. the newsletter format that has multiple articles (or article links) and photos.

9. Idea of the week, month, etc.

10. Featured product of the week, month, etc.

11. Case studies featuring happy customers or application of your product, service or customer experience.

Small Business Marketing Tip: Don’t under-send email, and be creative in the messages that you deliver. Your customers will let you know if you are over-sending, well before it’s become a problem.
