Google: Now Showing on MySpace

Social networking sites are big business, so sit up and pay attention! It was announced on Monday that Google will become the search engine for MySpace and a few other minor players after paying News Corp. $900 million for the privilege – which is nearly double the $580 they paid to acquire MySpace a little over a year ago. MySpace, according to on line stats, is the most popular web site in existence today, surpassing Google.com and other popular sites. Many businesses are sitting up and taking notice – and thinking about how they can market to the growing number of site visitors (45.8 million in July). For small businesses, consider how you can take advantage of localized information and membership groups to make your own valuable connections.
