Facebooks Home Page Changes May Not Be Permanent

0 Comments 25 March 2009

Due to the death of my father two weeks ago, I missed posting content, how-to’s and other navigational tips related to the new Facebook release. Apparently, missing that boat wasn’t a major setback as Facebook announced today that they’re not done making their changes.

Business Week is reporting the changes that will be unveiled shortly on the Facebook homepage:

Chastened Facebook Tweaks Home Page Design Again

The major premise of the “new” Facebook was to allow users to control their content more aptly – and to offer better and more powerful communication among one’s community of friends. The continuing changes sound like they will further achieve this mission – and in the end provide more powerful leverage for small businesses and Main Streets who are using Facebook to build and nurture their community of customers and prospects by removing some of the “clutter” that we all found a bit overwhelming visually in the current Facebook release.

Don’t forget – to learn how to use Facebook better, learn about upcoming events – and receive incredible special offers and cooperative marketing opportunities from our small business partners, stay in touch with us via our Team HALO Facebook group.

Remember, regardless of Facebook’s features, changes, and capabilities – it is just a medium. A medium to communicate messages between you and your constituents, customers or prospects. How you use the media of Facebook is up to you – be strategic – use it with purpose and measure your results – or risk wasting time and losing money (as with any marketing that is done without goals and measurement in place).
